Hi, I’m Michaela, the founder of Sálrimedi Holistic Health.

My path to naturopathy wasn’t a straightforward one—it was shaped by personal experience, time spent in high-pressure environments, and a deep respect for the resilience of the human body.

Living with chronic pain, exhaustion and frustrating medical dead ends. I went through the system, did the tests, and kept hearing the same answer: “Everything looks normal.” But my body was telling a different story. After 14 years of unanswered questions, I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis. It was a relief to finally have an explanation, but it also made me realise just how many others are stuck in the same cycle—knowing something isn’t right but struggling to be heard.

Drawing from a diverse background across multiple industries, journeying along some unbeaten paths and navigating my own health challenges, I’ve developed a pragmatic approach to achieving health goals—one that honours the complexity of people’s lives. 

How I practice is founded on being the practitioner I needed during years of searching for answers and compassionate care. I believe in motivating clients to take back control of their health through education and informed decision-making, ensuring the journey toward well-being is both achievable and uplifting. 

Sálrimedi was founded on the belief that no one should have to navigate their health alone. I strive to provide care that is evidence-based, deeply personal, and genuinely effective, ensuring nobody feels lost or left behind.

Supporting Those Who Serve

Before becoming a naturopath, I served in the Royal Australian Navy. The Navy took me to many incredible places and imparted invaluable life lessons that I couldn't have learned anywhere else. These experiences shaped my understanding of the unique demands placed on service members and first responders—the long hours, the physical strain, the high-pressure environments, and the mental resilience required every day. I know how these challenges can take a toll on the body and mind, often in ways that aren't immediately obvious.

That’s why I’ve made it my priority to offer a deeper, more proactive approach—one that goes beyond short-term fixes to address the root causes of health concerns. My focus is on structured, sustainable strategies that fit into the realities of your lifestyle. Whether it’s optimising recovery, building stress resilience, or improving overall well-being, my goal is to help those who spend their careers looking after others take better care of themselves.

The Meaning Behind Sálrimedi

Sálrimedi (pronounced Sahl-ri-meh-dee) is a name that blends two powerful concepts: Sálr, from Old Norse, meaning soul or spirit, and Rimedi, from Italian, meaning remedies. This combination reflects my approach to health—a fusion of science, nature, and the deep, personal connection between body and mind.

Sálrimedi represents a healing journey that is evidence-based, holistic, and deeply human. It reflects my belief that true wellness comes from aligning the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of ourselves, to restore balance and foster lasting vitality.

Beyond Naturopathy:

Bringing My Passion for Food into My Practice

In the Navy, I was a chef by trade. Food has always been a huge part of my life—not just as nourishment, but as culture, connection, and joy.

I’ve had the privilege of traveling, cooking, and eating around the world—from share plates sprawled across tables alive with banter, and authentic farm-to-table restaurants down hidden alleyways, to a Michelin-starred noodle house in a bustling South-East Asian food market. 

These experiences have shaped my deep appreciation for food as an integral part of well-being, and reinforced my belief that food should be real, delicious, and sustainable—not just a list of nutrients on a plate.

That’s why I integrate culinary nutrition into my practice. I don’t just talk about macros—I help make it realistic, enjoyable, and tailored to your lifestyle.
